Synthesis of the Pyrrol and Pyrimidine Derivatives from 9, 10-dihydro-9, 10-ethanoanthracene-11, 12-dicarboxylic Anhydride

Abstract

Pyrimidine and pyrrol derivatives have occupied a unique position in medicinal chemistry. Pyrimidine derivatives have received much attention over the last years because of their interesting biological and pharmacological properties as sedatives and various chemical uses. Due to this very fact, our interest in the synthesis of heterocyclic nitrogen compounds from the anhydrides was created. We synthesized new pyrrol and Pyrimidine derivatives from 9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoanthracene-11,12-dicarboxylic anhydride (1) following various synthesizing steps. The newly synthesized compounds were established by IR, 1H-NMR and mass spectral studies. Most of the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their preliminary in vitro antibacterial activity towards (Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus) also as antifungal. All the structures of new compounds have been established by their elemental analysis and spectral data.

Title

Corrosion Inhibition of Steel C1018 with Novel Complexes of Imidazoline

Abstract

New complexes of imidazolines with alkyl halogens were synthesized based on naphthenic acid and their inhibitive action against the corrosion of steel in CO2-saturated 1% NaCl solution were investigated at 50 oC. The Results show that investigated complexes of imidazolines are a good inhibitors and inhibition efficiency reaches 99% at 100 ppm. The high inhibition efficiencies were attributed to the simple blocking effect by adsorption of inhibitor molecules on the steel surface. The synthesized complexes were confirmed by physical-chemical methods and FT-IR spectra.

Title

A Rapid and Facile Synthesis of a-Amino Nitrile Employing Ionic Liquid

Abstract

α-Aminonitriles are important intermediates for the synthesis of a wide variety of amino acids, amides, diamines, and nitrogen-containing heterocycles. An efficient synthesis of α-aminonitriles has been described employing ionic liquid at room temperature. Ionic liquid promoted the formation of intermediate aryl imines which on further treatment with trimethylsilyl cyanide gave the desired α-aminonit-riles. The lengthy reaction time required for formation of the product is easily obtained in shorter time at room temperature. All the reactions proceed to comple-tion in just 25 to 60 minutes under ambient temperature except acetophenone for which 6 to 6.5 hours were necessary under the similar conditions. The respective α-amino nitriles were isolated in high purity and excellent yields.

Studies of Binary Complexes of Metal Ions with Mandelic Acid by Potentiometry

Abstract

The binary complexes of Mandelic acid ligand with Fe3+,Cu2+,Co2+,Ni2+,Zn2+,Cd2+ are studied in aqueous solution using Irving Rosotti method. The Proton ligand constant and metal ligand stability constants are studied at 27 oC. Ionic strength is maintained by using 1N NaNO3 solution. Stability constant values are calculated by half integral and point wise method. The order of stability is Fe+3> Cu+2>Cd+2 >Zn+2 >Ni+2 >Co2+. The order is in agreement with Irving-Williams order.

NMR Spectrum of 3NPA Extracted from Four Leguminous Plants

Abstract

3-nitropropionic acid extracted from dried shoots of four species of Leguminousae Hippocrepis cyclocarpa, Hippocrepis bicontorta, Astragalus hauaransis and Scorpiu-rus muricatus, the existence of 3NPA was confirmed by thin layer chromatography (TLC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Mass spectroscopy (MS). Beside the 3NPA, an aromatic nitrocompound was also detected in the extract of Astragalus hauaransis.
